Cookie Policy
Last updated: 19 October 2026
This policy explains which cookies and similar technologies Build Team Holborn Limited, 342 Clapham Road, London SW9 9AJ (“Build Team”, “we”) uses on www.buildteam.com, why we use them, and how you can change your choice at any time. For how we handle personal data more generally, see our Privacy Policy.
What cookies are
Cookies are small text files a website saves on your device. Some are needed for the site to work. Others help us understand how people use the site, or measure whether our advertising works. We also use similar browser storage (local storage) to remember your cookie choice. In this policy, “cookies” covers both.
How we ask for your consent
When you first visit, a banner asks whether you accept analytics and advertising cookies. Until you choose “Accept”, none of them is set:
- Google Analytics runs in Google’s consent mode: before you accept, it sends Google basic, cookieless signals (for example that a page was viewed) without storing any identifier on your device.
- Advertising tags (Meta, TikTok, LinkedIn, Pinterest) are not loaded at all unless you accept.
If you choose “Reject”, we only use the cookies that the site needs to work. You can change your mind at any time with the Cookie settings link at the bottom of every page.
Cookies we use
| Name | Provider | Category | What it does | How long |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| bt-consent (local storage) | Build Team | Necessary | Remembers whether you accepted or rejected cookies | 13 months |
| bt_bs | Build Team | Necessary | Keeps your place while you book a consultation, so a page reload does not lose your details | 24 hours |
| _GRECAPTCHA | Google reCAPTCHA | Necessary | Protects our forms from spam and abuse | 6 months |
| __stripe_mid, __stripe_sid | Stripe | Necessary | Fraud prevention when you pay for a site visit online | 1 year / 30 minutes |
| bt-promo-closed (local storage) | Build Team | Necessary | Stops the “Have a question?” pop-up from showing again after you close it | 7 days |
| bt_first_source | Build Team | Measurement | Records how you first found us (for example a Google search, an advert or a direct visit), so we know which channels bring enquiries. It stores no personal details | 90 days |
| _ga, _ga_X9FN9E7420 | Google Analytics | Analytics (only after Accept) | Counts visits and shows which pages are used, with a random identifier | 2 years |
| _fbp | Meta (Facebook, Instagram) | Advertising (only after Accept) | Measures our Meta adverts and lets us show them to people who visited the site | 3 months |
| _ttp | TikTok | Advertising (only after Accept) | Measures our TikTok adverts | 13 months |
| li_sugr, bcookie, lidc, UserMatchHistory | Advertising (only after Accept) | Measures our LinkedIn adverts and builds anonymous audience reports | up to 1 year | |
| _pin_unauth | Advertising (only after Accept) | Measures our Pinterest activity and adverts | 1 year |
When you send a form (a consultation booking, a quote, a contact or brochure request), we record that the form was sent in the tools above that you have accepted. The details you type are not passed to them.
Videos, maps and other embedded content
Some pages show content from other services. Our YouTube videos use YouTube’s privacy-enhanced mode and our Vimeo videos use Vimeo’s “do not track” setting, so they set no advertising cookies until you play them. The project map loads map tiles from OpenStreetMap, and the map on our Contact page comes from Google Maps; these services see your IP address when the map loads and follow their own cookie policies.
Changing your choice
Use the Cookie settings link at the bottom of any page to accept or reject again. You can also delete cookies, or block them, in your browser settings; if you block necessary cookies, parts of the site such as booking forms may not work.
